My carpet was cleaned, and now it has bubbles or ripples in it. What caused this?

As the carpet dries, these bubbles or ripples should start to lay flat again. Once it is dry they should be virtually unnoticeable. What method do you use for carpet cleaning?

The method we use for carpet cleaning is hot water extraction, commonly referred to as steam cleaning. Our patented hot water extraction system removes the toughest, deepest dirt safely and gently. Hot, soft water and our soap free cleaning solution are injected deep within the carpet fibers. Then, a powerful suction extracts deep-down dirt, allergens  cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture. It’s the cleaning method most recommended by carpet manufacturers.

My carpet has a lot of pet urine, does cleaning it remove it all?

Pets definitely keep us in business! The answer is actually more scientific than you would expect. As the pet urine dries, it leaves behind crystallized particles which could be extremely difficult to remove if it sits too long on the carpet. When your pet urinates, it puts the carpet through a process extremely similar to the original dying process- so in most cases the urine actually changes the color of your carpet and is unable to be removed.

After you get your carpets cleaned and the carpets begins to dry, the urine can actually “wick” back up toward the surface from the pad. So a stain that seemed to have disappeared, may reappear once the carpet dries. Depending on the amount of urine in the carpet, cleaning it alone may not solve the issue. In some cases, the carpet fibers as well as the backing need to be cleaned and the pad completely replaced before the smell and urine go away.

We are happy to clean any house with urine stains and odor, and will do all we can to clean to the best of our ability, but we do not offer any guarantees on pet odor or stain removal.

I live in an apartment/condo, can you still clean my carpet?

This is very tricky and the answer has a lot of components to it. The short answer is “it depends” on many different circumstances. In order to properly clean your carpets we absolutely must have the following:

  1. Access to an outside water source – Our machine runs on water, so we need plenty of it. Most apartment complexes do not offer outside water access, and due to the possibility of a leak we cannot hook our hoses inside buildings.

  2. Access to adequate parking – Our Truck is large, so we need enough space to park it without blocking other residents’ parking spots, garages, or streets. We cannot park anywhere a “No Parking” sign is posted. Additionally, if your apartment faces an area that isn’t a road (somewhere we can’t drive or park such as a ravine or grassy area), or if our hoses are unable to reach you- we will be unable to complete the job.

  3. Must be on the Ground level or Second-floor.

If you have any questions or concerns about cleaning apartments or condos, please shoot us a text or give us a call. We will do everything we can to assist you.

Carpet Repair

Can you fix holes in the carpet?

Yes, these areas generally require a patch to repair this area.

Pet Stain Removal

Why did the pet stains come back?

Some stains may “wick”. This is fairly uncommon but is treatable. This is when the spill or soiling has made it to through the carpet fibers into the base, and likely the padding.

When the carpet dries the moisture is pulled back from the base of the carpet. This is because the carpet dries from the top, down drawing the moisture from the backing.

Why are urine stains hard to remove?

Uric acid from dogs, and especially cats can be difficult to remove. Baking soda, vinegar and other home remedies can neutralize the odor temporarily.

Humidity can recrystallize the previous spot causing the odor and staining to eventually reappear. It is important to apply an enzyme solution and allow to dry.

The uric acid will then turn into a gas, then evaporating.

How can I remove pet stains?

The best order of operations would be to blot, not wipe, the affected area. Absorb as much as possible. Wiping will cause the accident to spread.

Extract if possible, using a shop vac or a spot cleaning vacuum. Apply an enzyme cleaner and allow to dry. If the stain or odor is too much, it may be time to call Steam King.
